Description: heavy limestone offering table of thick rectangular block form with an upper drainage spout. For the priestess of Hathor Heqy. A partially preserved inscription on the rim reads: An offering which the king gives to Osiris, Foremost of the West(erners)...Abydos...temple musical troupe...daughter of...daughter...of Di-wer-meref...the Priestess...of Hathor, Hegy...a garland of ...any opposition. Carved relief decoration including food and storage vessels. Some scattered minor ancient edge losses and surface weathering, otherwise intact, overall exc. cond.
Provenance: Ex. Christies, NYC, April 2019, lot 104. Ex. Private NYC collection, acquired by the grandfather of the previous owner and brought to New York, prior to 1948, thence by descent to the current owner.
