Description: Rectangular silver ingot probably recovered from a ship wreck having several stamped markings: R C & M CCCC XXX with individual stamps, and two partial stamps on the opposing side near the center, having a round beaded border with numbers and letters. Rough textured and probably made in a sand mold. Overall dark silvery surface patina. Intact.
Provenance: Private NYC collection, acquired by owner from Arte Primitivo, auct. 54, lot 136, ex. The Estate of Wallace Katz, NYC.
