Description: |
Carved bone finial, decorated with two finely carved, elaborate registers, both depicting a seated chief wearing a very large headdress. Overall scattered areas of surface encrustation, and having a mellow tan surface patina. Some loss around the base socket rim, and a long stable hair line on one side, otherwise intact. |
