Description: |
Very large polychrome decorated pottery deep dish plate or bowl, depicting a standing dignitary wearing a tall knotted hairdo with a feather finial, large feathered wings and shoes tied with a bow. A large glyph is next to his right foot. Drilled in the center with a ceremonial kill hole. Paint loss at the center of the plate, a long very tight stabilized hair line from the kill hole to the edge, otherwise intact, unbroken. Some normal scattered paint wear around the rim. A very impressive example. |
