| Description: |
Fine polychrome decorated pottery cylinder vase, having a large rectangular register on both sides depicting a seated dignitary holding a long feathered wand in his left hand and a knife in his right hand. High striated hairdo pulled into a rear tail and tied with long ribbon terminating with a bird head (on one side), the opposing dignitary is depicted without a ribbon. Side panels are decorated with a woven reed pattern. Both deities have beautiful painted facial features. Scattered root marks, mineral and surface deposits. Intact, exc. cond. A top quality, beautiful example. |
