Carved bone pendant, face plaque having relief carved facial features depicted with deep wrinkles on both cheeks, inset with mother-of-pearl, shell and turquoise inlays. Some remaining traces of cinnabar highlights. Tiny perforation along the top edge for suspension. Repaired from four original pieces, and missing a shell inlay on the right side of his mouth, otherwise overall exc. cond. Custom bronze base. |
