Description: |
Fine and large polychrome decorated figural vessel having a stirrup type spout. Depicted is a seated drunk monkey deity, holding a large covered vessel with both his hands and feet, resting his head on top of the vessel. Wearing a fancy painted headdress having a geometric decoration and a cape over his back. Spout repaired and reattached. Vessel repaired from approximately fourteen original pieces, mostly on his back, with restoration over the break lines. An impressive example. |
