Polychrome decorated pottery anthropomorphic vessel depicting a seated figure wearing a cape over his shoulders, beautifully painted faces and both forearms finely tattooed with a mythological creature. Overall scattered areas of strong mineral deposits on the surface. Surface erosion on the handle and tip of the spout, otherwise intact, exc. cond. A top quality and very beautiful example. |
