Description: |
Rare and unusual example, smaller than lifesize, with tapered and curved animal horns on the sides and hollowed ears standing alert at the temples, the elongated face with metal sheet upper eyelids, long thin and straight relief ending just above projecting straight lips, and pair of legs with grooved sides extend along the sides of the face. Tiny metal pins dot the surface of the cheeks and chin. A small head is positioned on the forehead, carved with a headdress of two animal horns at the side, a conical finial on top, and face with straight nasal ridge along center. Repaired horn on left side of finial head, two adjacent horns on top of mask are restored, and two lower legs at sides of face are reattached, some losses to rim.
