| Description: |
Finely carved hardwood anthropomorphic mask with delicate elongated nose flowing to smooth arching brows that frame the crescent shaped slit eyes, small curved mouth, and segmented beard surrounding face with rounded edge goatee beneath chin. Mask is heightened with tapered crest hairdo flanked with tall rounded zoomorph ears filled with remains of crusty kaolin pigment. Burnished dark brown patina with deposits in edges. Light loss at right eye proper, hairline crack on lid. |
