Category: Pre-Columbian Art

Size: 7-1/8 x 5-1/4.

Description: Fine pottery vessel having a stirrup type spout, and incised and painted red-brown geometric decoration on a cream ground. The thick spout lip and simple geometric repeating pattern suggest an early date in Moche Phases 1-2. The shape is appealing and there is a nice sense of balance of form and proportion between the flaring stirrup and the spherical chamber of the base. The motifs clearly reflect textile designs and occur on other early vessels. Intact, exc. cond.

National: $25.00
International: $125.00 (This is approximate and for Postal Service. Prices may vary, especially for private carriers such as: FEDEX, UPS and BAX).
