Description: Large size, heavy, hammered gold pectoral ornament of double “bird-tail” form with a central large suspension loop. Intact, exc. cond., with excellent surface quality. Custom bronze base. A very impressive and artistic example. A near identical, but slightly larger example is in the Metropolitan Museum of Art: accession #: 1988.166.
Provenance: Ex. Edward H. Merrin, personal collection, 1968-69.
