Fine large redware standing figure having expressive facial features, rowed hairdo in relief and perforated ear lobes. Short, nubbin arms held slightly away from body, bulbous tapered legs. Overall strong pattern of root marks and scattered surface deposits. Very minor flake on the nose tip, otherwise intact, exc. cond. A rare large size, beautiful quality example. Custom base. Old Christies label. |
