Description: |
Cast bronze standard in the form of the “Master of the Animals”, of Gilgamesh fame, the Janus-headed figure with additional janeiform heads on the torso and waist, gripping the necks of two highly stylized horned animals. A full bodied human figure below. Scattered areas of blue-green patina with areas of red-brown oxides. Intact, exc. cond. A nice example. |
