Large pottery female figure, seated with legs crossed. Wearing a cape and knee length skirt; front of cape open with bare breasts exposed, hands extended. Depicted with a fancy striated hairdo and wide decorated headband, small ear spools, applied beaded necklace. Expressive facial features with lips parted, showing front teeth. Painted red and black pigment highlights. Strong surface deposits and root marks on the surface. Intact, exc. cond. A rare and beautiful example. |
