Very fine standing solid pottery figure depicted in a power stance, feet spread apart, arms held slightly away from his sides. Wearing wide, textured lower leg bands and upper arm bands, loincloth tied in the back, triple strand necklace with a single drop pendant. Fancy textured hairdo with central pointed crest, expressive facial features, parted lips showing upper teeth. Highlighted with red-orange surface pigment. Overall strong scattered mineral deposits and root marks on the surface. Intact, exc. cond. Custom bronze base. A beautiful example. |
