Description: Large bronze bowl in the form of a scalloped shell, and having a raised circular element in the center of the bowl. Overall rich blue-green encrusted surface patina, with some large areas of thick encrustation. Some loss to the edge of the underside separately applied base plate, otherwise intact. A rare example. cf.: K. Vierneisel, ed., Romisches im Antikenmuseum (Berlin, 1979), no. 106; D. Heilmeyer, Antikenmuseum Berlin: die Ausgestellten Werke, (Berlin, 1988), p. 276, no. 17.
