Description: |
Fine and early example formed by early technique of first being burned and then carved, rather than turned wood. Of wide flat-bottomed form with embryonic swelling walls and softly tapered rim. Lovely honey brown and red brown grain of walls in radiating patterns. Some age cracks with butterfly repairs on side. Inventory number written on base. |
