Description: Lightweight wood hyena mask carved with elongated straight and hollowed ears, the hyena hair ridge along jutting forehead, an engraved border along the edge of the forehead, and long angular nose separating circular eyeholes. Loss on forehead, abraded wear at tip of right ear, some surface wear. Medium brown dry matte patina.
Provenance: Private NJ. collection, acquired in Paris from Pierre Verite, 1950s - 1970s, by descent to family.
