Description: |
Carved wooden cup depicting the head of a dignitary, wearing a silver headband secured by a silver chin strap, both are decorated with rows of relief circular elements. Eyes are inset with clam shell. Skillfully carved facial features with some remaining traces of red facial pigment. Some ancient losses of the wooden rim. A rare and beautiful example. |
