Two different pottery oil lamps, first from Carthage (Tunisia), 5th century A.D. depicting Abraham preparing to sacrifice Isaac, with angel hovering above and ram caught in the thicket. Outer border of decorated circular elements. Scattered areas of surface erosion, otherwise intact. Together with a blue glazed lamp, from Nishapur. A restored chip on the spout rim, otherwise intact. |
