Description: |
Two different glazed pottery examples including a lusterware vase, being a style of initially Islamic pottery created in Al-Andalus (Muslim Spain), which continued to be produced under Christian rule in styles blending Islamic and European elements. Decorated with two wide bands of abstract geometric elements, and upper and lower bands. Flared mouth rim repaired from approximately eight original pieces with restoration over the break lines. Together with a blue-green glazed ribbed vessel having a tapered bulbous body and wide rimmed mouth, single applied strap handle. Some shallow chips around the lower rim edge, otherwise intact. |
