Description: |
Large bronze fibula, with a long tapered pin, integral coil spring, and catchplate, four knob finial, body plate decorated with an openwork geometric grill and engraved details, two rosette openwork head embellishments. Missing the front portion of the grill plate, and some loss to the front edge of the catchplate. A rare type. cf.: The Met Museum, 51.115. |
