| Description: |
Large and fine red-brown pottery standing female figure, depicted with wide rounded hips, round breasts, and short arms held away from her sides with hands in a forward position. Large wide head with nicely sculpted facial features, large narrow eyes and small oval recessed mouth, arched brows and incised decorated ears. Beautifully decorated headdress with incised geometric decoration, highlighted in pink-orange decoration, on both the front and back. Red-brown painted highlighted areas. Body repaired from approximately five original pieces and head reattached with restoration over the break lines. A beautiful example. |

CIRAM Lab report # 0419-OA-34N-3. Ex. Ricardo Fernandez, Spain. Emigrated to Mexico in the 1940’s. This figure was brought to Miami, FL. between 1968-1969. By descent to his daughter, Mrs. Marlene Fernandez Pineda. Then to Alicia & Enrique Bermudez in 2015. |
