Description: |
Polychrome decorated hollow pottery standing female figure, holding both hands to her swollen (pregnant) stomach. High tapered forehead, open toothy mouth and large diamond type eyes. Decorated with large black and white painted double lighting bolts on her chest, face and back, all on a red slip ground. Wearing painted black and white striped shorts. Missing toes on both feet, and a few very minor paint and edge flakes, otherwise intact. Attached to an old wood base. A classic example. |
