Size: 6-1/8”H. x 3- 15/16”W. x 6”L. (15.6 x 10 x 15.3cm)

Description: Buffware pottery with white to beige slip. Vessel depicting a bird with a long downturned beak. The incised eyes are round. The wings are in relief and finely engraved with feather motifs. They are held close to the body. The vessel's opening is on the top of the head. Overall scattered areas of root marks and surface deposits. Ancient loss to the tips of his toes and center feathers of chest, otherwise intact, overall exc. cond. A very rare and elegant example. A copy of a thermoluminescence certificate accompanies.
