Description: |
Fine blackware pottery anthropomorphic bottle depicting a deity wearing an large and fancy zoomorphic headdress with large eyes and a long squared snout. Wearing large ear spools and a necklace composed of large round beads. Glyphic type applied feathered wings. Finely sculpted and expressive facial features. Overall pink pigment highlights. Strong scattered root marks and mineral deposits on the surface. Several restored chips on the lip rim, otherwise intact, overall exc. cond. A rare and beautiful example. |

Ex. Ricardo Fernandez, Spain. Emigrated to Mexico in the 1940’s. This vessel was brought to Miami, FL. between 1968-1969. By descent to his daughter, Mrs. Marlene Fernandez Pineda. Then to Alicia & Enrique Bermudez in 2015. |
