Carved gray volcanic stone kneeling corn god, depicted wearing a banded headdress with upper and lower beaded rows, and long rear side lappets. Tiered and striated hairdo framing her face, recessed oval eyes. Wearing a large beaded double strand necklace, and an apron with three tassels. Holding both hands to her knees. Overall remaining pink surface deposits, and having an excellent ancient surface patina. Intact, exc. cond. A larger and fine quality example. |
