Description: |
Two different hollow molded pottery figures, including a standing female figure wearing a high dome headdress, beaded necklace, knee length skirt with an incised diagonal pattern, painted blue-green and ocher highlights with an impressed dot design. Some remaining red-brown and ocher surface pigment. Scattered mineral deposits on the surface. Right leg reattached, and some light weathering to the surface. Custom metal base. Together with a jaguar deity figure, having a large dome head, open toothy, fanged mouth, whiskered snout. Arms held in a raised forward position, bearing large claws, long curled tail. Face painted half blue and half ocher. Tail and both arms reattached, some restoration to the claws, right toes restored, otherwise intact. |
