Description: |
An abstract idol carved from a very soft white stone, with prominent nose, slits for the eyes and mouth and no other decoration. Originally dressed in miniature Ponchoon torso, that is why coloration on head is different from cleaner torso, because torso was originally dressed. This rare example is part of a small group of these little-known sculptures. A minimalism sculpture, comparable in age and quality to the Cycladic Art of ancient Greece. Head reattached with restoration over the break lines. Custom metal base. |
