Description: |
Very large and complete woven alpaca / camelid wool textile panel; consisting of sixteen plain weave solid rectangular stripes in alternating colors of red, ocher, green and dark blue, with tie-dye double row diamond decorated borders. The individual color sections woven together along mid-line by single weft element and then sewn together to each other and to the tie-dye border. There are two 9” areas of loss, in the color field which have been restored, and some normal scattered small losses. Framed in a custom burl wood veneer frame. An impressive example. |
