Description: |
Carved gray hardstone, life-size head of Buddha, originally from a figure, depicted with a tightly knotted updo. Nicely sculpted facial features, arched browline, high cheeks, elongated ears and depicted smiling. Overall excellent ancient surface patina with strong surface deposits. Some normal chipping along the base edge of the neck, otherwise intact. Custom tiered black base. |
