Description: |
Both are grayware pottery tomb figures, painted with vibrant colors. The taller is a graceful attendant with slender curving body, flaring at the base, holding an orb in front which hides his hands. Painted white slip with deep maroon and pink highlights. Face with black fine-line features and wispy moustache. Paint loss, tiny hole at bundle top and two small hairlines in base. Smaller kneels with hands to mouth in supplication attitude. White slipped surface with deep maroon robe border, gray and orange “paisley” pattern. Facial features gone, else intact save for paint loss and a small chip on rear base. |
