Description: |
Carved black hematite cylinder seal having a rollout impression depicting an enthroned king holding a bird, and facing two standing dignitaries holding offerings and an animal. Inscribed two vertical columns of cuneiform text: translated: Amurru, son of Anu. A few very minor ancient flakes on the top edge, otherwise intact, overall exc. cond. A very nice example. |
