Size: Flask: 3”H. Amphor: 3-1/4”H. & arrow: 1-1/8” to 1-3/8”L.

Description: Including a salmon color molded pottery Saint Menas flask, depicting a deer on the front and lettered on the reverse. Handles and neck restored. Together with a mottled grayware pottery Egyptian amphoriskos having two small rim chips and a foot chip. Finally, an old paper box inked on the lid with an early description, contained in the box are two stone Greek arrow points, not matching the description.
Provenance: Collection of Dr. W. Benson Harer, Los Angeles, California. Arrow Heads: Ex. Howlett collection, 1860’s. Ex. Christie’s, Nov. 17, 1977, lot 454. St. Menas flask: Anglo American Bookstore, 1945 - 1950, Ex. Philip Mitry, 1951. Amphoriskos: Ex. Emil Brugsch Collection, curator of the Bulaq Museum, Cairo, Egypt. Exhibited at the Drexel Museum, Philadelphia, 1895 to 1914; with the Drexel Institute Collection, Minneapolis Institute of Art, 1915 to 1958, ref. no. 16.563; at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, (LACMA) from 1986 to 1991; in the University of Arizona Museum of Art, October 1993 to December 1993; and in the Robert and Frances Fullerton Museum of Art (RAFFMA), California State University, San Bernardino from 1998 to 2023, reference number EL01.082.1998.
