Description: Exceptional cast solid bronze standing figure depicting an archer Prexiau holding a large bow on his left shoulder, his arm, protected by an armguard. Wearing a horned helmet and a quiver on his back. Wearing a rectangular breast plate, short tunic and and greaves (shin guards). Right hand held in an upward position, a gesture that has been interpreted as a sign of greeting or prayer. The archers wear distinctive attire and are identified by the weapons they carry. As they are fully armed, the types may represent different military ranks. Overall excellent black-green surface patina. Intact, exc. cond.
