Long staff-club of hardwood, with perpendicular curved blade finial, deeply carved throughout with curved and notched patterns in an evenly repeating pattern, and an abstracted tiki mask on the shaft. Small lightly abraded area on top corners of the blade. Dark brown smooth patina. This tewhatewha was most likely used for ceremonial or dance purposes. |
